When should I book school holiday care?
Six to eight weeks before the holidays is ideal. For summer holidays, booking in November ensures better availability. Holiday care books up quickly because everyone needs care during the same weeks.
Can you take children on outings during holidays?
Yes, to local parks, libraries, or playgrounds within walking distance. We discuss specific plans when you book. Any activities requiring transport or paid entry need prior arrangement.
What if the weather is bad?
I plan both outdoor and indoor activities. If weather prevents outdoor plans, we switch to indoor activities, crafts, games, or creative projects.
How many children can you care for at once?
For full-day holiday care, I typically work with one family at a time, caring for up to three children. This ensures everyone gets adequate attention and supervision.
What ages do you provide holiday care for?
I’m comfortable with toddlers through to early teens. Activities are planned appropriate for the specific ages of children in my care.
Can you help with holiday homework?
Yes. Some schools assign work during holidays. I can help children complete assignments and include educational activities in the day’s schedule.
What if I need to cancel?
I require as much notice as possible for cancellations. School holiday bookings made well in advance should be cancelled at least one week before if possible, so I can offer the time to other families.
Are you available for the entire holiday period?
My availability varies each holiday. I can’t always cover every day of school holidays due to my own commitments, which is another reason booking early matters.
What if my child has special needs?
We discuss any special requirements during our meet and greet. I’ll be honest about whether I can provide appropriate care for your child’s specific needs.
